Information you give us

Through our forms we collect your name, organization, email address and phone number, delivery address, event date and time, guest count, budget, caterer and menu preferences, selected add-ons, dietary and allergy notes, and any other notes you choose to include.

Caterer partner inquiries include business contact and cuisine details. Review submissions include your name, email address, an order date or reference, a rating, review text and any optional photos.

Dietary and allergy notes are shared with the caterer preparing your order so the food can be handled appropriately. Please include only what is reasonably necessary for the caterer, and avoid sending detailed medical information.

Information collected automatically

Analytics: this site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-0FTZ5HLDJ2) to understand how pages are used. It records page views and interaction events such as form starts, form submissions, and clicks on our phone and email links. We do not send your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, dietary notes or free-text message content to Google Analytics.

Enquiry source and advertising measurement: after you select Accept, this site stores in your own browser's local storage, under ch_attribution_v1 for up to 90 days, the first page you landed on (its path only, without the rest of the web address), the time it was recorded, the hostname of the external website that referred you if your browser shares one, and any campaign parameters present in that first web address — gclid, gbraid, wbraid, utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content. Later visits do not replace this first record. If you then send an enquiry, these details are saved with our private record of your enquiry and included in our internal notification. Click identifiers are never sent to Google Analytics.

Your choice: Google Analytics and the advertising attribution record are optional and are off by default. Nothing is loaded or stored for these purposes unless you select Accept in the privacy choices notice. You can change your choice at any time using "Privacy choices" in the site footer; declining disables the Google tag in that browser and clears the stored advertising record. Your choice is remembered in your browser under ch_privacy_choice_v1. Clearing your browser storage removes both records.

We may also process basic technical information, such as request data handled by our hosting provider, to keep the site running and to prevent spam, fraud and abuse.

How information is used

We use your information to respond to requests, coordinate with the caterer and arrange delivery, confirm availability and pricing, communicate about an order, verify reviews before publication, prevent abuse, measure how our website and advertising perform, and operate and improve CaterHarbor.

Who we share it with

The caterer you are matched with receives the order details needed to prepare and fulfil your request.

We use service providers who process information on our behalf: website hosting and application infrastructure, our managed database and file storage backend, an email delivery provider for confirmations and internal notifications, and Google Analytics for website measurement. These providers may process or store information outside Canada.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your inquiry details for advertising targeting.

Review photos

Photos attached to a review are stored privately and are not publicly accessible. A photo is only published if the associated order and review are manually verified first.

Storage and retention

Submissions are stored securely and access is limited to authorized CaterHarbor operations. We keep inquiry and order records for as long as reasonably needed to coordinate service, maintain business records, answer follow-up questions and prevent misuse, and no longer than that.

The advertising attribution record in your browser expires after 90 days.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@caterharbor.com or use our contact form and include any reference number you were given. We may need to keep certain records where there is a legitimate business or legal reason to do so, and we will tell you if that applies.
